WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania, created to strengthen the statewide business environment, is accepting training reimbursement applications for the 2018 fiscal year.
Pennsylvania College of Technology is one of 27 educational partners statewide that comprise WEDnetPA, providing access to training funds and serving as a point of contact for businesses utilizing the grant program. WEDnetPA is funded under the state Department of Community and Economic Development’s PA First line item.
From its inception in 1999 through 2016, 18,437 Pennsylvania companies have received over $227 million in WEDnetPA reimbursement for the training of more than 1.1 million employees.
This year’s program incorporates several key changes and enhancements. Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College is hosting an online seminar at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, to provide a brief history of WEDnetPA, an overview of the Essential Skills and Advanced Technology reimbursement programs, and step-by-step instructions on the application process. Registration is required.
