LaMarr G. Pentz, 93, formerly of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in the UPMC Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born Monday, December 1, 1924 at Montgomery, Lycoming Co., PA, he a was son of the late Emery and Lydia (Morehart) Pentz. He and his wife, Rae Jean Pentz celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary in September 2017.

LaMarr honorably and proudly served his country during WW II with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre.

He retired in 1989 from the former LDI at Montgomery where he was employed as a fabricator. He had previously been employed at Litton Industries at Williamsport and Arrowlet at Montgomery.
LaMarr was a member of St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church at Montgomery where he had taught Sunday School for 35 years and had formerly served on the church council. He had perfect Sunday School attendance for over 50 years. He was a charter life member of Montgomery V.F.W. Post 743, a member of the Montgomery Senior Citizens, where he delivered "meals on wheels" , a former Boy Scout leader and was a member and past president of Woodmen of the World of Camp 717 .

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Wayne A. and Marie Pentz of Bigler, PA; Kenneth E. and wife Suzanne Pentz of Montgomery, PA and Virginia L. Pentz of Montgomery, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. LaMarr was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen M. (Delaney) Pentz; his daughter, Pamela J. Pentz; one sister, Geraldine Derr and seven brothers, Paul Pentz, Sr.; Ralph Pentz; Edward Pentz; Max Pentz; Elwood Pentz; Robert Pentz and LeRoy Pentz.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery with Reverend Theodore L. Cockley, interim pastor, and Pastor James R. Pentz, his nephew, officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA 17752 or to Hope Enterprises, 2401 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
