Europe-Africa scored one run in the sixth on. Despite its efforts, Europe-Africa couldn't finish the comeback.
Europe-Africa couldn't get anything going as long as Clayton Campbell was pitching. Campbell held Europe-Africa hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven.
Elia Sartini took the loss for Europe-Africa. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
The game's last lead went to Australia thanks to a second inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI single by Ryley Gonzalez.
Australia got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, Australia scored on an RBI single by Campbell, scoring William Unitt.
In the sixth inning, Europe-Africa pushed across its only run of the day on a passed ball.
