BASEBALL - Crosscutters Medina Suffers Second Loss of the Season

Game Highlights: August 4, 2016 – Adonis Medina suffered his 2nd consecutive loss of the season, as he and the Crosscutters fell to the Staten Island Yankees 5-3 at home Thursday night. Medina allowed a season-high two home runs in the loss.

Medina finished the night, tossing five innings, allowing five runs, three earned, while allowing six hits, two walks and striking out a pair. Medina has now allowed home runs in back-to-back starts and has surrendered four on the season.

The Cutters made a late charge, plating two runs in the bottom of the 9th, forcing a pitching change with the winning run at the plate, but Juan Luis would go down looking to end the ball game against Justin Kamplain, who earned his 2nd save of the season.

Carlos Indriago and Tyler Hallead combined to toss four shutout innings of relief to help keep the Cutters alive. Indriago allowed three bases hits and struck out a batter in his two innings, while Hallead worked around a base hit, facing the minimum, picking up a strikeout in his two innings of work.
