BASEBALL - Slow Start Cost Cutters Against Spikes


Game Highlights: August 17, 2016 – The Crosscutters offense struggled in their first game back from the All Star break, not scoring a run until the top of the 8th inning in their 5-3 loss to the Spikes in State College.

Bailey Falter fell to 1-6 on the season, allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out four. It was the eighth time this season that the 19 year old has surrendered three earned runs or less and not gotten the win.

Darick Hall finished the night 2-for-4 with a two-run single to centerfield as a part of the Cutters three-run 8th inning. For Hall, it was his 15th and 16th RBI of the season. Luke Williams also finished with two hits, collecting his 6th RBI of the season in the 8th inning.

The Cutters fall to 2-4 against the rival Spikes in the 2016 version of the SawBuck series as their losing streak extends to four games.
