Great Pitching Leads West Region Past Southwest Region, 5-0

Victor Lizarraga tossed a two-hit shutout, fanning nine, to lift West Region Champions Chula Vista Little League to a 5-0 win over Southwest Region winners McCallister Park American Little League at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.

Devin Hinojosa racked up two RBIs on one hit for West with a homer in the third inning.

Dominic Tellis took the loss for the Southwest, which falls out of contention for the World Series championship. Tellis went five innings, scattering five runs, and striking out six, while not walking a batter.

McCallister Park America Little League is scheduled to play its third and final game of the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series on Tuesday against Chofu Little League of Japan, which was eliminated by Pariba Little League from Curacao. The Consolation Game B is to be played on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. on Howard J. Lamade Stadium.
