With the lead in his hands, Johnston Little League's Josh Larson was able to come in to the game and put away the final three outs to record the save and earn Iowa the Midwest Region Championship title.

This marks the 13th time a team from Iowa will head to South Williamsport and the first time in league history that Johnston Little League earns the trip. The last team from Iowa to play in the LLWS was in Urbandale LL in both 2013 and 2009.
As the representative of the Midwest Region, Johnston Little League will open up the 2016 Little League Baseball World Series on Friday, Aug. 19, at 4 p.m. as it takes on the winner of the West Region.
