Mexico Region Uses Big Third Inning To Beat Canada Region

Mexico jumped out to an early lead on Canada and captured a 7-1
Mexico jumped out to an early lead on Canada and captured a 7-1 victory on Tuesday at Volunteer Stadium.

With five runs in the first three innings, Mexico left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

Jose Angel Leal racked up two RBIs on one hit for Mexico. He homered in the third inning.

Victor Juarez looked sharp on the mound. Juarez held Canada hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out seven.

Stefano Dal Sasso ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

Mexico closer Luis Lauro Nuncio put away the final two outs to record the save.

Mexico increased its lead with four runs in the third. The inning looked promising, as Jose Angel Leal homered, scoring Gael Isaac Cortez to kick things off. That was followed up by Milton Gonzalez's double, bringing home Juarez and Lauro Nuncio.
