BLOOMSBURG—Two Bloomsburg University track and field athletes, Kaylee Caruso (Montoursville/Montoursville) and Hannah Boudreau (Hampstead, MD/North Carroll), have been named to the Division II All-Academic team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The pair was among 483 student-athletes honored.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.

Caruso, the school record holder in the long and triple jumps, has a 3.49 GPA as a mass communications major at Bloomsburg.

During the indoor track and field season Caruso won both the long and triple jump crowns at the 2016 PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Caruso had a long jump of 5.99 meters and a triple jump of 11.95 meters. Her marks in both events were NCAA provisional marks, while her triple jump effort broke her own school record. She went on to be named the Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the championships and was named All-Region by the US Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.

Qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships Caruso became the first track and field athlete in school history to earn All-American honors in jumping when she took seventh place at nationals in March of this year.

In the outdoor season she picked up where she left off during the indoor season setting school records in both the long and triple jump. At the PSAC Championships she repeated as the PSAC outdoor long jump champion with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 6.15 meters to set yet another school record. She also posted an NCAA Provisional mark in the triple jump. At the NCAA Outdoor Championships Caruso finished 13th in the field of 22 competitors finishing with a mark of 5.95 meters.

She went on to earn All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA (United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association) in both events. Caruso was also named the 2015-16 Bloomsburg University Female Underclass Athlete of the Year.

Boudreau, a special education and early childhood education major at Bloomsburg, has a 3.69 GPA. She qualified for the honor by posting an NCAA provisional qualifying time at 10,000 meters during the outdoor season running a career-best 36:25 at the Bison Outdoor Classic. She was named All-Region by the USTFCCA for the indoor and outdoor seasons.
