Lycoming Audubon Society - 2016 Lycoming Audubon Program "Georgia Sea Turtle Center" set for September 28th

What: Lycoming Audubon Society is hosting a program entitled “the Georgia Sea Turtle Center at Jekyll Island”. Our presenter, Jeannie Martin, is originally from Avis, Pa and is the AmeriCorps volunteer coordinator at the sea turtle center. She also is co-editor of “Scute’s Ocean Adventure”, a children’s book about a sea turtle hatched from a nest on Jekyll Island. This turtle swims out to sea and eventually returns to the sea turtle hospital after eating a plastic bag that he mistook for a jellyfish. Jeannie will speak about issues in protecting our wildlife in the sea and also discuss birds of the area.

When: September 28, 2016 :meeting beginning at 6:00 pm with the program commencing at 6:30 pm

Where: Both the meeting and program are free and open to the public at the James V. Brown Library (Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Wing), 19 E. Fourth Street, Williamsport (parking off Market Street).
