Lycoming College names Marla Kramer associate director of advancement communications

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College today announced that Marla Kramer has joined its marketing and communications staff as associate director of advancement communications, bringing more than twenty years of experience in writing and communications.

Kramer provides strategic communications support for college alumni relations and advancement, leading efforts in writing, editing and producing various digital and print materials for the College. She also serves as the managing editor of the College’s alumni periodical, LC Magazine.

“Marla’s keen ability to write clearly for various audiences is honed by her significant experience helping organizations achieve their business goals through key message development and well-crafted communication initiatives,” said Patrick Marty, executive director, communications and external relations. “She has already managed the publication of one of the largest and most comprehensive issues of LC Magazine yet, one which celebrates the induction of legendary coach Frank Girardi into the College Football Hall of Fame.”

Before coming to Lycoming, Kramer was the public relations manager at NTT Communications/Verio for six years, where she headed media relations and analyst relations. Prior to that, she was the public relations manager for VA Linux, and worked at several public relations agencies, representing clients including IBM, Kenwood, The Weather Channel and Energizer.

Kramer holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University’s E. W. Scripps School of Journalism.
