Mustangs Move Up in Poll, Enter AFCA Rankings

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University football team moved up one spot to No. 20 in this week's Top 25, marking the third straight week the Mustangs have been ranked. In addition, Stevenson is ranked for the first time in program history in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches' Poll, checking in at No. 22 after being the top team receiving votes in the poll's opening week last Monday.

Stevenson improved to 4-0 and 3-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a 54-15 win over FDU-Florham at Mustang Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Junior quarterback Dan Williams threw for six touchdowns and 338 yards in the victory, Stevenson's sixth straight dating back to last season. The Mustangs also held their second straight opponent under 20 points.

With four interceptions Saturday, the Mustangs have 14 on the season, continuing to lead all of Division III. The Mustangs also lead in turnovers gained (16) and are ranked No. 2 in turnover margin (+2.50).

The Mustangs return to action on Saturday when they travel to Misericordia University for a 1:00 Middle Atlantic Conference contest.
