Stevenson Football - Austin Tennessee Tabbed as MAC Defensive Player of the Week

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Stevenson University senior defensive back Austin Tennessee was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Sunday morning for his role in Saturday's 31-26 win at defending league champion Albright College. It marks the second time he has won the award, as he also earned it as a freshman in 2013.

Tennessee finished with a career-high 11 tackles (eight solo), including one sack, in the victory. The sack was the first in the career of the two-time First Team All-Conference performer. In the season opener against North Carolina Wesleyan, Tennesee had an interception and a pass breakup in addition to two tackles.

For his career, Tennessee has registered 152 tackles, nine interceptions and 23 pass breakups.

Stevenson (2-0, 1-0 MAC) returns home Saturday, September 17 when it hosts Lebanon Valley College in a 1:00 conference contest at Mustang Stadium.
