LANCASTER, Pa. – Susquehanna junior running back Cameron Ott (Mountoursville, Pa./Mountoursville Area) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, announced Sunday morning.
Ott’s honor, SU’s first Player of the Week recipient this season, comes following the River Hawks’ 55-40 home victory over Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. Ott broke SU’s single-game record with five rushing touchdowns in the victory. Ott surpassed SU Hall of Famer Dave Paveletz ’10 – who had two games with four rushing touchdowns – and five other SU players who also finished with four rushing scores in a single game.
Ott tallied 184 rushing yards against the Bullets to account for all but 99 of Susquehanna’s rushing yards against Gettysburg.
Through four games this season, Ott is the team’s leading rusher with 286 total yards, five touchdowns, an average of 71.5 rushing yards per game and an average of 4.3 yards per carry.
Susquehanna is now 2-2 on the season with a 2-1 mark in Centennial Conference games.
