Track & Field - Eagles Shultz sparks impressive opener for Women’s XC

Freshman Amanda Shultz turned in a strong individual effort to highlight an impressive outing for the LHU women’s cross country team.
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In what is an annual tradition - the Lock Haven University women’s cross country team opened the season in familiar fashion - hosting NCAA Division I Penn State at the 10th annual Dolan Duals and the Bald Eagles turned in an impressive outing.

Leading the way today for LHU was rookie Amanda Shultz (North Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff), who was quite impressive in her debut. She finished 14th overall and was Lock Haven’s top woman with a 4K time of 15:32.58.

Allison Grose (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) looked strong as well and finished with a time of 16:05.24.

Caroline Stickley (Atglen, Pa./Octorara), Elizabeth Duguid (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Courtney Capper (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) all broke the 17-minute mark and provided a strong Haven pack.

Penn State, ranked No. 13 in Division I, won the dual, 15-50.
