Track & Field - No. 17 Eagles Men’s Cross Country strong in opener

The No. 17 LHU men’s cross country team got off to a strong start thanks in large part to a sensational effort from Addison Monroe (5th, 18:24.54 (6K)).
 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 17 Lock Haven University men’s cross country team opened the 2016 season today by hosting NCAA Division I Penn State at the 10th annual Dolan Duals and the Bald Eagles got off to a strong start.


Leading the way was Addison Monroe (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin Country), who was fifth overall with a solid 6K time of 18:24.13.

Jacob Fetterman (Sugarloaf, Pa./Hazleton) and Sean Weidner (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) finished seventh and eighth overall with times of 18:31.85 and 18:32.05, respectively.

Lock Haven’s sensational start to the season was aided by the remarkable performance that came from the freshmen trio of Sam Signor (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro), Chandler Vincent (Pownal, Maine/Freeport) and Jacob Toczko (Mehoopnay, Pa./Tunkhannock).

Penn State won the meet, 16-41.

LHU will hit the course again on Saturday, September 17 at the Kutztown Division II Challenge.
