Cutters Julian Garcia strikes out a season-high eleven in win over Black Bears

Game Highlights: July 30, 2017 – Julian Garcia was phenomenal, striking out a season-high eleven in the Crosscutters 4-1 win over the West Virginia Black Bears. Garcia failed to allow a hit over his five shutout innings of work. Garcia did allow four walks, one intentional, but was able to strand five runners. Of his eleven strikeouts, nine were of the swinging variety.

Malvin Matos connected on his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left in the 4th inning. Matos finished the night 1 for 3 with a pair of RBI giving his 11 on the season.

Adam Haseley recorded his first mutli-hit game since July 23rd, finishing the night 2 for 4 with his 11th RBI. Greg Pickett went 2 for 4, picking up his 14th RBI of the season and Rodolfo Duran went 2 for 4, as the only Cutters to record multi-hit games.

Crosscutters pitching combined to strikeout 16 batters, tying a season-high. Garcia tied Kyle Young for the most strikeouts by a single pitcher in a game for Williamsport this season.

Williamsport stranded 14 runners on base in the win.
