Cutters Kyle Young Stout As Cutters Fall 2-1 to Mahoning Valley

Game Highlights: July 27, 2017 – Cutters starting pitch Kyle Young delivered yet another strong performance, tossing five scoreless frames, as the Crosscutters fall 2-1 to the Scrappers.

Young did not factor into the decision, striking out six over five scoreless innings. Young allowed three hits, of which, only one left the infield. The South paw has 17 strike outs over 10 innings against Mahoning Valley this season.


Austin Listi entered for an injured Colby Fitch in the top of the 6th inning. Listi provided the only offense for the Crosscutters, hitting hit 3rd home run of then season to lead off the top of the 9th. For Listi is was his 16th RBI of the season.

Mahoning Valley plated both of their runs in the bottom of the 8th inning against Damon Jones, who suffers his 2nd loss of the season.

The home team remains undefeated in this series. Williamsport won all three at home earlier in the month, while Mahoning Valley takes the first game on their turf.

Williamsport tied a season-high by drawing five walks in the losing effort, stranding seven runners and going 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position.
