Cutters Sweep Mahoning Valley With Offensive Barrage

Highlights: July 9, 2017 – Williamsport carried a four-run lead into the top of the 9th inning, only to escape with a 8-7 win and a sweep of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.


Austin Listi propelled the Crosscutters offense, finishing the night 4 for 5 with a home run, a pair of doubles and three RBI. The home run was Listi’s first as a professional. 

Cole Stobbe connected on his league-leading 5th home run in the 5th inning
Cole Stobbe connected on his league-leading 5th home run in the 5th inning. Stobbe retook the team RBI lead, recording his 12th and 13th of the season.

Five different Crosscutters hitter recorded multi-hit games, as Williamsport pounded out a season-high 16 hits in the win. The Cutters had a season-high six doubles (three by Malvin Matos & two by Listi) giving them a league-high 48.

The two home runs tie a season-high for Williamsport and give them 16 as a team.

Will Stewart earned his 2nd win of the season, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five. All three runs allowed came in the 1st inning, before the 19 year old settled in.
