Crosscutters Bring the Lumber Against the Spikes

Game Highlights: August 27th, 2017 - The Crosscutters out-hit the Spikes in their 3-2 win on “Timber Night” in State College, avoiding the sweep with the win. Cole Stobbe pulled the Cutters ahead with a RBI double in the 8th inning. It was his 8th double and 22nd RBI of the season.

Josh Stephen pulled into a tie for the team lead with his 26th RBI, coming on his 10th double of the season in the 6th inning. Jake Scheiner tied the game with a lead off home run in the top of the 7th inning. It was his 3rd home run and 14th RBI of the season. It was also his first home run since July 24th against Auburn.

Ramon Rosso was solid, allowing two runs, both earned, on five hits and a pair of walks while striking out six over six innings. The outing was his longest in a Crosscutters uniform. Kyle Dohy earned his 2nd win of the season, tossing two shutout, hitless innings of relief. Striking out the last five batters that he faced. Luis Ramirez earned his NYPL leading 11th save of the season with a perfect 9th inning. Ramirez is also leads the NYPL with 17 games finished and is tied for the NYPL lead with 21 appearances.

The Crosscutters were held to four hits, all singles, over the first two games of the series. They collected eight hits, including four doubles and a home run in the win.
