Spikes Best Cutters On Road For Second Night

Game Highlights: August 26th, 2017 - The Crosscutters were held to two hits for the second night, falling 3-1 to the Spikes in the middle game of the series in State College.

Julian Garcia was outstanding, allowing two runs, both earned, over five plus innings of work. Garcia allowed six hits while walking three and striking out eight batters, taking his fourth loss of the season. It was the sixth start this season for Garcia with seven or more strikeouts.

Randy Alcantara allowed one run, both earned, on three hits over three innings of work. Alcantara did not allow a walk and struck out one.

Josh Stephen finished the night 1 for 4 with a single and Jake Scheiner finished the night 1 for 2 with a run as the two combined for the Crosscutters lone two hits.

The Crosscutters were retired in order in five of the nine innings and have been retired in order in 11 of the 18 innings played in this series against the Spikes. Williamsport falls to 4-6 against the Spikes this season with three more meetings, all in State College.
