Williamsport Splits Doubleheader With Auburn

Game Highlights: August 28th, 2017 - Williamsport split their doubleheader with Auburn, taking the first game and falling in the night cap.

Andrew Brown tossed 5.1 innings, allowing one run, earned on two hits and three walks while striking out five in a no decision in game one. Connor Brogdon earned the win, working 1.2 innings of shutout baseball, allowing two hits while striking out two.

Greg Pickett recorded his 20th RBI of the season in game one, finishing the night 1 for 3. Nerluis Martinez was the lone Cutter to record a multi-hit game in game one, going 2 for 3 with his first triple.

David Parkinson took the loss in game two, allowing two runs, one earned, over four innings of work. Parkinson surrendered his 2nd home run of the season, allowing four hits and 4 walks while striking out eight. Orestes Melendez tossed three scoreless innings, scattering two hits and walking two while striking out three.

Rodolfo Duran and Yahir Gurrola each doubled in the game, represented the only two hits for the Crosscutters in the game two loss.

Williamsport is now 8-8 against Auburn this season, with two more games remaining. Both games will be played in Williamsport.

The Crosscutters have been shutout five times in 2017.
