Young Suffers First Loss As Cutters Road Trip Woes Contiues

Game Highlights: August 19th, 2017 – The road troubles followed Williamsport to Batavia, as the Kyle Young and the Crosscutters suffered a 11-1 loss in game one of a rain shortened doubleheader.

Kyle Young suffered his first loss of the year, allowing seven runs, all earned, on seven hits in 2.2 innings. Young surrendered his first home run in the loss, with the seven runs being his most allowed in a start this season. Kyle Dohy allowed four runs, all earned, on four hits, four walks and striking out two batters along the way. Over Dohy’s last two outings, he has walked eight batters in 2.2 innings of work.

Greg Pickett lead the Crosscutters offense, finishing 2-2 with a pair of singles, accounting for two of the Cutters three hits on the night.

Rodolfo Duran picked up the Cutters 3rd hit, singling in the top of the 5th inning. On that play, the center fielder Ricardo Cespedes misplayed the ball, allowing Cole Stobbe to score from 1st base to give the Cutters their lone run of the game.

The rains came in the bottom of the 5th inning, rendering the playing field unplayable. The Cutters fall to 0-6 in doubleheaders this season.

Williamsport and Batavia will play a doubleheader tomorrow, starting at 1:05 p.m. at Dwyer Stadium.
Both games with be of the seven inning variety.
