Yahir Gurrola, Malvin Matos and Nerluis Martinez each collected a pair of doubles as the Crosscutters collected seven doubles, to give them 122 on the season, which is tied for the most in the New York-Penn League.
Every Crosscutter had at least one hit, except Josh Stephen, as the Crosscutters pounded out 15 hits. The most hots they have had in a game since collecting 16 hits against Auburn on August 29th. Andrew Brown improved to 4-4 with the win. Brown allowed three runs, one earned, over 5.1 innings. He surrendered five hits and two walks while striking out five.
Damon Jones tossed 2.2 innings of relief, allowing one hit and a walk while striking out six batters. Jones allowed one inherited run to score in the outing, hitting a batter with the bases loaded. The run that scored belonged to Andrew Brown.
Randy Alcantara tossed a scoreless 9th inning, allowing one hit and striking out one to close the door on the 8-3 win. It was the first time this season that the Crosscutters had three different batters collect two doubles in a single game. With the win, the Crosscutters improve to 4-6 against the BlackBears this season.
