The Huskies have competed once so far on the young season and that came back on Friday, September 1, when Bloomsburg edged Mansfield at the annual Husky Invitational. The Huskies finished with 25 team points as the hosts had the top two runners, and three of the top five finishers, in the event. The Mountaineers collected 30 team points.

Boudreau crossed the finish line of the 5000-meter event in a time of 18:29 while Jacaruso completed the race in 19:28 to finish 1-2 in the standings. After a pair of Mansfield runners placed third and fourth, redshirt sophomore Samantha Strype (Copiague, N.Y./Massapequa) was the next Bloomsburg finisher as she took fifth with a time of 21:27. Junior Danielle Adornetto (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) had the Huskies' fourth-best result as she took seventh overall with a time of 21:56. Redshirt sophomore Eli Martinez (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy)rounded out Bloomsburg's top five finishers as she placed tenth with a time of 23:40. Freshman Mayelin Santiago (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) and seniors Carli Dedics (Drums/Hazleton Area)and Amanda Simone (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) also competed for the Huskies.
