Crosscutters Young, Brogdon Deal Spikes Loss

Game Highlights: September 6th, 2017 - Kyle Young and Connor Brogdon combined to hold the Spikes to two runs as the Crosscutters topped their in-state rivals, 5-2 on the road. Kyle Young finished the night, allowing two runs, both earned, over six innings of work. Matching his season high in innings pitched. The lefty struckout six batters, while walking one and allowing eight hits en route to his team-high 7th win.

Connor Brogdon finished the night, tossing three shutout innings. Brogdon allowed a pair of hits and a walk while striking out five batters, picking up his 3rd save of the season.

Greg Pickett finished the night 3 for 3 with a pair of RBI to lead the Crosscutters offense. Josh Stephen picked up a pair of hits, including a double as he finished 2 for 5. Rodlofo Duran and Jesus Azuaje each finished the night 2 for 4 with a pair of singles. It was the 10th time in the last 17 games that Crosscutters pitching had combined to strikeout 10 or more, striking out 11 in the win. The Crosscutters collected 10 or more hits for the fourth time in their last five games.

Williamsport improved to 5-6 against the Spikes in 2017, with one more game. The Crosscutters can finish the season with a .500 record with a win in their season finale tomorrow night.
