Foran Named Head Strength And Conditioning Coach At Bloomsburg University

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Bloomsburg University Director of Athletics Dr. Michael McFarland has announced the hiring of Andrew Foranas the head strength and conditioning coach.

Foran comes to Bloomsburg after serving as the strength and conditioning coach at Albright College. While at Albright, he worked with all 23 varsity athletic programs.

"We are pleased that Andrew will be leading our strength and conditioning efforts for our student-athletes," said Dr. McFarland. "His desire to see the student-athletes succeed, ability to encourage student-athletes to achieve their fitness and strength goals, and overall experience make him a tremendous complement to our solid coaching staffs."

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and he holds a certification from the national USA Weightlifting (USAW) organization. Foran also owns a certification in Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR).

A native of Warminster, Pa., Foran is familiar with Bloomsburg and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as he is a 2013 graduate of Shippensburg University, earning a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. He also earned a Master's degree in exercise science with a focus on strength and conditioning from East Stroudsburg University in 2014.

During his undergraduate tenure, he was a four-year letterwinner on Shippensburg's men's soccer team. During his junior season, Foran posted a 1.10 goals-against average, tallied 52 saves, and compiled a .788 save percentage. He posted a 7-3-2 record that season with four shutouts - all of which came during a five-game span. During the stretch, he went 338 minutes without allowing a goal.

Foran has worked with a variety of teams including the men's and women's soccer teams at East Stroudsburg University. Additionally, during a stint at Penn State, he served as an intern with eight programs: field hockey, softball, baseball, swimming and diving, men's and women's rugby, and men's basketball. He also has experience working in the private sector doing strength and conditioning at Velocity Sports Performance Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
