The LHU field hockey team turned in another strong effort today and the Bald Eagles posted their second straight shutout in a 3-0 win over host Siena
HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (5-1) turned in another dominating effort on the road and the Bald Eagles shutout host Siena College (0-6).
It marked LHU’s second straight shutout on the road.
The Bald Eagles outshot Siena, 20-7, and got goals from three different players including Emily Robb (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor), Alyscia Smith (Newport, Pa./Newport) and Dana-Lee De Gannes (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago/Bishop Anesty East).
Goalkeeper Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) stood strong and made four saves as she solidified the shutout.
Robb put LHU up 1-0 in the 26th minute when she knocked home a rebound.
LHU led 1-0 at halftime, but The Haven added two second-half goals.
Smith made it 2-0 early in the second half and De Gannes capped the scoring in the 49th minute of play.
Both De Gannes and Michele Enck (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) were credited with assists in the win.
The Bald Eagles will open Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action on Friday, September 15 at La Salle (3 p.m.). Lock Haven will cap a six-game road swing on Sunday, September 17 at Saint Joseph’s (A-10, 12 p.m.).
