WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After a three-win week, Lycoming College senior Kyle Mizell (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) and junior Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) were honored as the MAC Commonwealth Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Sept. 11.

Mizell led the Warriors offensively during the week with five points on two goals and an assist. He posted a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Susquehanna in the Battle of the Boot and added a goal in a 3-0 win over Dickinson. He was one of the team’s eight goal-scorers during the 11-goal week.

Solecki led the team defensively, posting a 0.40 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. He let up one goal over 225 minutes of action, including a shutout and a combined shutout. The junior made two saves in the first half in the 5-0 win over Susquehanna. He posted five saves in a 3-0 win over perennial Centennial Conference favorite Dickinson and followed that with three saves in a 3-1 win over Washington (Md.) during the Red Devil Classic.

Mizell joined senior Abdullahi Abdi (Seattle, Wash./James Garfield) as winners of the conference’s offensive player of the week award this year, as Abdi earned it on Sept. 5. Solecki is the team’s first conference defensive player of the week since junior defender Sainclair Tueno (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) earned the award on Sept. 26, 2016.

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when they host Medaille in non-conference action at 4:30 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
