WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) posted 10 kills and 10 digs for her second double-double of the season and sophomore Lilly Singleton (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) finished with 13 kills while hitting .355 to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 13-25, 25-20) win over Mount Aloysius in non-conference action at Lamade Gym on Thursday night, Sept. 14.

The Warriors (6-2 overall) hit better than .250 in all three sets they won, pounding down 45 kills in those three wins, but were hindered by a negative hitting percentage in the third set, helping the Mounties (2-8 overall) extend the match to four sets.

Still, the team used a balanced hitting attack in the win, led by Singleton and Titus, as three other players also had more than five kills, with sophomore Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) finishing with nine kills and three blocks, freshman Elle Jednorski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) adding seven kills, five digs and four blocks and sophomore Katie Hausknecht (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) adding six kills and a block.

Senior Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 37 assists and nine digs and junior Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) added 20 digs, as she became the eighth player in school history to reach 1,200 career digs in the match.

In the first set, the Warriors broke open a 16-15 set by posting a 9-4 run to close the set, with McDevitt notching a huge solo block to help close out the set. In the second set, the Warriors came back from a 12-9 deficit to tie the set at 13 and the two teams continued to battle to a tie at 23. Lycoming was able to take the set thanks to a pair of attack errors.

After the Mounties won the third set, 25-13, the Warriors broke open a tie at 17 by posting an 8-3 run to win the set. McDevitt led the run with three kills and Singleton capped the run with a kill to clinch the match.

The Mounties were led by 12 kills and 16 assists from Jessica Bressler and 11 kills, five digs and two blocks against Hannah Cotchen. Sarah Fisher posted 10 kills and three blocks. Machala Gibbons finished with 16 digs and two aces and Emma Pevarnik posted 23 assists, 13 digs and two blocks.

The Warriors get back on the court on Friday, Sept. 15, when they head to the Hartwick Invitational, opening the tournament against Hartwick at 4 p.m.
