DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The accolades continue to pour in for Delaware Valley University senior linebacker Nick Wright (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) as he was recently named to the Team of the Week following his performance in the Aggies’ 41-6 victory at No. 24 Albright College on October 7.

On Monday, Wright was named the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week for his effort. It is the second time this season that Wright received the conference and national accolade he also earned the honors after the season-opening win over nationally-ranked Wesley College.

In the game against Albright, Wright had six tackles and scored two touchdowns, one on a 58-yard interception return and the other on a five-yard return of a blocked punt. He is the first know defensive player in program history to score multiple touchdowns in a game and he is actually the team’s third leading scorer with 20 points (three touchdowns and a safety). Wright helped anchor a defense that allowed just 34 rushing yards and forced three turnovers while keeping the previously undefeated Lions off the scoreboard until the final six minutes of the game.

DelVal (6-0, 5-0 MAC), which is sixth in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll and 10thin the latest poll, will host conference foe King’s College for Homecoming on Saturday, October 14 (12:30 p.m.).
