DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley University remained at the number five spot in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III poll while the Aggies went up one spot to seventh in theD3football.com Top 25 poll following their 35-0 shutout over Lebanon Valley College on October 28.

DelVal received 1,042 points in the AFCA poll to still trail only defending champion Mary Hardin Baylor (Tex.), Mount Union (Ohio), Wisconsin-Oshkosh and St. Thomas (Minn.) in the poll. It is still the highest ranking that the team has had in the regular season. They ended the 2005 campaign in the fifth position in the poll following a loss in the NCAA quarterfinals.

In the D3football.com rankings, DelVal jumped up to 458 points and moved past Linfield (Ore.), which fell from sixth to eighth.

Wesley College, which the Aggies defeated, 24-19, in the season opener, holds the number 13 spot in both polls.

DelVal improved to 8-0 overall and 7-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) with its blanking of Lebanon Valley. The Aggies are alone in first place in the conference, one game ahead of Widener University (6-2, 6-1) with two games remaining.

DelVal travels to Misericordia University (1-7, 1-6) on Saturday, November 4 and can clinch a share of the MAC crown with a win. A win and a Widener loss at home to King's College would give the Aggies the outright title and the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA playoffs. If both teams win or lose next Saturday, they will meet for the MAC championship and national tournament berth in the regular-season finale in Doylestown on November 11.
