Healthy Steps for Older Adults - A Program to Prevent Falls

Most people know that having a fall injury such as a hip fracture can be devastating, to both the patient and to his or her family.  But many people do not know that there are steps you can take to reduce your risk of falling.  Healthy Steps for Older Adults is a new program to help people prevent falls and improve their health.
Healthy Steps includes two workshops, to help older adults make their home safer, manage their medicines, and learn how to improve their strength and balance.  Healthy steps also offers many other resources to help older adults prevent falls.  The workshop is in two parts, you will automatically be registered for both weeks.  Please plan to attend both weeks.
This program is brought to you by STEP Office of Aging.
**This program is one of the many ways Pennsylvania Public Libraries support the PA Forward Initiative through providing health literacy opportunities for learning.
