ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Albright football team will host a game in the Third Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series for the second consecutive season when it hosts Susquehanna on Saturday at a time to be determined.
The Lions (8-2) earned the top-seed in the MAC and will host the Centennial's second-seeded River Hawks (7-3) on Saturday at Shirk Stadium. Albright recovered from back-to-back losses in midseason to win its final three games of the regular season. The Lions finished in a tie for second place with Widener in the MAC, and the Lions earned the tiebreaker with their victory over the Pride in the Pretzel Bowl in September.

Susquehanna finished with a 7-3 overall record and a 6-3 mark in Centennial play. The River Hawks won their final two games of the regular season, including a 28-21 victory over Juniata on Saturday to clinch a spot in the Bowl Series.

The teams had one common opponent in 2017. Albright defeated Lycoming, 21-17, while Susquehanna also beat the Warriors, 7-6, in the season opener.

Game times are scheduled to be posted on Monday.

The two conferences will support the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) partnership with Special Olympics by donating 25 percent of ticket revenue generated during the Bowl Series to the organization. Giving back to local and regional communities not only adds to the comprehensive learning component of Division III, but also provides a venue for passion and service.

The Centennial Conference and the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced on Nov. 5, 2015 their partnership to hold two postseason football games between member institutions. The Centennial-MAC Bowl Series involves the top two teams from each conference that are not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship.

The top team from each conference that is not selected to the NCAA Division III Championship will host the second best team from the opposing conference not moving on to NCAAs in one game of the series. This season, 2017, the bowl games are scheduled for Saturday, November 18.

The MAC has won all four bowl series games to date. Delaware Valley has picked up two of the victories over Moravian (2015) and Muhlenberg (2016), while Stevenson defeated Muhlenberg in 2015 and Albright defeated Franklin & Marshall in 2016.
