Bloomsburg University Men's Indoor Track And Field Heads To Houghton Today


MEET INFORMATION
HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Bloomsburg University men's indoor track and field team will head to Houghton College on Friday evening to take part in the Houghton December Classic. Action will get underway at 3:30 p.m. with field events beginning at 4:00 p.m. from the Kerr-Pegula Fieldhouse.

LAST TIME OUT
Bloomsburg got its 2017-18 season underway as it competed at the Bison Opener, hosted by Bucknell University, last Saturday. The Huskies collected eight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifiers during the opening meet of the campaign.


Six of Bloomsburg's eight qualifiers came on the track. Junior Tom Moser (Natalie, Pa./Mt. Carmel) was the only Huskies' winner as he crossed the finish line in the 3000-meter run with a PSAC-qualifying time of 9:04.14. In the 5000-meter run, junior Nick McGuire(Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) finished in third with a time of 15:37.18 to qualify for the conference meet. Senior teammate Danny Dugan (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey) finished in fourth with a time of 15:49.16 to also get under the PSAC standard.

Redshirt senior James Wilson (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) was also a PSAC qualifier as he took second in the 800-meter run after recording a time of 1:59.27. He was one of only two runners on Saturday to finish the event in under two minutes. Also qualifying for the conference meet were senior Austin Kline (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), who finished seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.60, and redshirt sophomore Marcus Gray (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), who posted a time of 7.14 seconds in the 60-meter dash to also finish in seventh overall.

In the field events, sophomore Matthew Hart (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) tossed the shot put 14.21 meters to finish fifth in the event and to qualify for the PSAC Championships. Freshman AJ Peapos (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame)  also posted a PSAC-qualifying mark in the high jump as he finished tied for sixth with a best jump of 1.86 meters.

UP NEXT
The Huskies will compete again on Friday, January 12, when they head to Kutztown University to participate in the Golden Bear Invitational.
