Huskies Barber, Yenney Named To United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two members of the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team - senior Rachel Yenney (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and junior Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) - have been named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-East Region Team as announced by the organization.

Yenney, a senior forward from Collegeville, Pennsylvania, enjoyed her best season on the field this past year. She established career-highs in goals (4), assists (5), and points (13) while starting all 18 games for the Huskies in 2017. For her efforts, Yenney was named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Third Team for the second time in her collegiate career - she also earned the accolade as a freshman in 2014.

Off the field, Yenney has a cumulative grade point average of 3.77 while majoring in physics.

Barber, a junior midfielder from Pittston Township, Pennsylvania, earned a spot on the All-PSAC First Team after tying Yenney for the team lead in scoring with four goals and five assists for 13 points while starting all 18 contests. Barber also earned Second Team All-Region honors from the United Soccer Coaches following the campaign. Barber has now earned All-PSAC honors in each of her first three seasons - Third Team (2015) and Second Team (2016) - and has earned All-Region honors in each of the last two years - Third Team (2016). She will enter her senior season with 13 goals and 16 assists for 42 career points.

While majoring in speech pathology and audiology, Barber has a cumulative grade point average of 3.94.

The duo helped the Huskies to a 9-6-3 overall record in 2017, going 8-5-3 in conference play and advancing to the PSAC tournament quarterfinals.
