The Lycoming College men’s basketball team’s game notes for its 6 p.m. MAC Commonwealth game at Alvernia on Wednesday, Dec. 6

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After coming from behind in a frantic finish against Hood College that saw 13 second-half lead changes, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team takes on Alvernia University in another MAC Commonwealth road game on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. at Jack McCloskey Court.


Against Hood, senior Chris Wallace hit a layup with 21 seconds remaining and the Warriors forced the Blazers into two turnovers and a missed 3-pointer on their final three possessions to hang on for an 83-77 win. Junior T.J. Duckett scored a team-high 16 points off the bench, while senior Alex Newbold added 14.

After starting the season 2-0, Alvernia (2-4) has lost four straight and fell to MAC Commonwealth rival Lebanon Valley in its last outing, 85-64. Nick Youngkin led three Golden Wolves in double-figures with 17 points.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors’ 14.7 steals per game rank eighth in Division III while their 23.67 turnovers forced ranks 10th.

• Senior Alex Newbold needs two more steals to become the fourth player in school history to reach 150 in his career.

• Junior T.J. Duckett leads the MAC Commonwealth with a .541 3-point field goal percentage and is second with 2.9 made 3-pointers per game.

• Senior Chris Wallace is the only player in the conference to be in the top 10 in both steals per game (2.3) and blocks per game (1.4) as he ranks second and third, respectively.

• With 136 career steals, Wallace needs three more steals to tie Jason Black (1998-02) for the sixth most in program history.

• The Warriors have six players averaging a steal per game or better and three averaging 1.9 or more in Newbold (1.9), Wallace (2.3) and sophomore Ronald Jefferson (1.9).
