• Wilkes hosts the 85th annual Wilkes Open on Friday welcoming over 280 wrestlers from over 30 different schools. Wrestling gets underway at 9:00 a.m. at the Marts Center.
• The Colonels earned a hard-fought 24-19 victory over Elizabethtown in its last home dual match using two falls from sophomore Kyle Medrow and junior John Ritter to secure the win.
• Wilkes fell in both of its matches at the Grapple at the Garden losing 29-16 against No. 10 Stevens before a 38-3 defeat against LIU Post.
• Wilkes swept two matches at the McDaniel Duals posting a 35-9 victory over Southern Virginia before beating host McDaniel 25-12.
• The Colonels went 2-3 at the Mount Union Duals with wins over Alma 34-8 and Greensboro 31-13.
• Wilkes finished 1-2 at the NY/PA Duals with a 38-6 win against Hunter College after falling to No. 11 Cortland 23-20 and NYU 34-6.
• Wilkes finished in tenth place at the Ned McGinley Invitational to open the season two weeks ago as one Colonel earned a top-six finish. Freshman Kyle Trout took home fifth place at 125-pounds in the tournament.
• Wilkes features one ranked wrestler in the latest NWCA individual rankings. Matthew Grossmann is ranked seventh at 141-pounds standing 8-2 on the season.
