WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After a pair of double-doubles and crossing a milestone, senior Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) has earned her first career MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week award, the conference office in Annville, Pa., announced on Monday, Dec. 11.

Mueller, a 5-11 post player, put in two dazzling performances while helping the Warriors (7-2 overall, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) to a pair of conference wins. She started the week with 16 points and 16 rebounds in a 63-45 win at Alvernia, becoming the 10th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points in the win. She followed that with 19 points and 12 rebounds in a 79-61 win over Widener, adding an assist, a block and a steal in the win.

For the week, Mueller averaged 17.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent (15-of-25) from the field and 83 percent from the free-throw line. Mueller is third in the MAC Commonwealth in scoring (15.2) and second in rebounding (10.3) and is one of two players in the conference in the top five in the league in both categories.

Mueller is the first Warrior to earn the conference’s player of the week award since senior Haley Sipple (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) earned it on Dec. 19, 2016.

The Warriors are on a weeklong break for final exams before getting back on the court in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where they will take part in the Cruzin' Classic. They open their two-game set in the Sunshine State on Monday, Dec. 18, against Randolph-Macon at 2 p.m.
