Advisory - Length Restriction Placed on Route 154 Bridge Over Elk Creek in Sullivan County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists in Sullivan County are advised a length restriction has been placed on vehicles using the Route 154 bridge over Elk Creek in Elkland Township. The bridge is located near Lincoln Falls and the intersection with Kobee Road and McCarty Ridge Road.

A vehicle crash damaged the bridge railing and outside beam. A temporary concrete barrier will be placed on the bridge to prevent traffic from driving over the outside beam until it can be replaced.

The bridge width will be restricted to 26 feet, curb-to-curb. A 46-foot truck length restriction will be placed on the bridge due to turning movements begin limited by the temporary concrete barrier.

A detour for trucks more than 46 feet in length will be in effect using Route 4008.

A project to replace the beam is being developed. Construction is expected this summer.
