First National Bank of Pennsylvania makes donates to the James V. Brown Library


Williamsport - First National Bank of Pennsylvania recently donated $1,000 to the James V. Brown Library under the Pennsylvania State Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Don Breon, treasury management at First National Bank, presents the check to Barbara S. McGary, executive director of the Brown Library, center, and Kristin Caringi, chief financial officer/chief operations officer at Brown Library. The funds will be used to support the educational programs offered at the James V. Brown Library, such as Digital Arts Camp; Teen Comic and Manga Club; Boom, Fizz, POP! (STEM programming); and I Spy Photography. The James V. Brown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 24/7 at www.jvbrown.edu.

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, Pa., is the place to go to learn, connect and grow. Founded in June 1907, the library champions the love of reading, opens new doors to lifelong learning, provides a haven to those who seek and ensures the preservation of public library services for future generations. The library has more than 225,000 visitors in a year and circulates a half-million items annually. A member of the Lycoming County Library System, the James V. Brown Library participates in PA Forward, a statewide initiative to promote literacies in our communities to power a better future for everyone.
