WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After winning all three games in the series a season ago, including the MAC Commonwealth Championship, the sixth-ranked Lycoming College men’s basketball team looks to win its fourth straight against Albright College on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 5 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
The Warriors (14-1 overall, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off an 83-71 win over Stevenson. Senior Chris Wallace led Lycoming with 23 points and five steals and senior Alex Newbold added 13 points and seven rebounds against the Mustangs.
Albright (11-2 overall, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth, which is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com poll, dropped its first conference game to Lebanon Valley, 78-70 on Saturday. Brandon Lindsay led three Lions in double figures with 16 points and Fred Rowles added 15.
Warrior Notes
• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth in scoring (83.8), scoring margin (13.4), defensive field goal percentage (.392), steals per game (12.3), turnovers forced per game (22.1) and turnover margin (+6.07).
• Lycoming’s 15-game winning streak at home is tied for the second longest in Division III.
• With their win against Stevenson, seniors Chris Wallace and Alex Newbold set the career wins mark by a senior class with 75, breaking a tie with 2017 senior Nyk King.
• With 1,083 career points, Wallace needs four more to pass Mike Brown (1975-79) for 27th in program history.
• With 75 career blocks, Wallace needs two more to tie Greg Sye (2005-09) for fifth in program history.
