Lycoming College Warriors out for 10th win of the year against Stevenson

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Off to one of the best starts in program history, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will look to reach double-figures in wins for the fifth straight year when it hosts Stevenson University in a MAC Commonwealth matchup on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (9-3 overall, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth) kept their half-game hold on second place in the conference with a 57-56 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 6. Senior Shelby Mueller hit two free throws with 27.6 seconds left to put the Warriors over the edge in their second straight win over the Flying Dutchmen in Annville.

The Mustangs (7-5 overall, 3-2 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 67-49 loss to 20th-ranked Messiah. Freshman Olivia Coleman led the team with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are looking to improve to 10-3 for the fifth time in program history and the first since 2008-09.

• The Warriors are 4-1 in conference play for the first time since joining the MAC Commonwealth in 2007-08. The last time the Warriors started conference play 4-1 was 1997-98 as members of the MAC Freedom.

• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth with an average of 75.6 points per game, a .332 defensive field goal percentage, a .400 3-point field goal percentage, 6.3 3-point field goals per game and 45.4 rebounds per game.

• Senior Shelby Mueller has a career-high three 20-point games this year and she is one shy of reaching the top 10 in the school's history with seven career 20-point games.

• Mueller is eight free throws made shy of the school's career record of 278 set by Annette Weller (1991-96).

• Sophomore Morgan Mader is averaging 10.3 points over the last three games.
