Men's Basketball - Second Half Surge Lifts LBC over Penn College


LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster Bible College used a 41-26 second half en route to a 75-57 win over Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 0-4 NEAC, 1-12 overall, while the Chargers improved to 6-0, 10-4.


James Bullock and Erik Perry Jr. paced Penn College with 12 points each, Ben Sosa added 11, and Robert Young Jr. finished with 10. Jesse White pulled down a game-best 11 rebounds.

Luke Beers led LBC with a game-high 16 points.

Penn College trailed by nine, 19-13, with 10:41 left in the opening half before going on a 7-4 run to close the gap to three, 23-20, on Young's layup with 6:27 before the break. The Charger built their lead to eight at one point before Penn College closed the gap to two, 31-29, on a pair of Young free throws with 20 seconds left. LBC led 34-31 at halftime.

The Wildcats opened up the second half with a 13-9 run to take their lead, 44-43, on a Sosa layup with 12:51 left in the game. The Chargers answered with an 18-0 run to lead 61-44 in five minutes and never saw its lead dip below double digits.

Penn College returns to action Sunday, 12 p.m., at Wilson College.
