New to Medicare information session scheduled at Brown Library

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host a “New to Medicare information session with APPRISE” from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 29.

Linda Hess will be here to give an overview of Medicare and answer your questions. 

APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help all Pennsylvanians with Medicare. APPRISE counselors are specially trained staff and volunteers who can answer your questions and provide you with objective, easy-to-understand information. APPRISE wants to make sure you and your friends who have Medicare know about the Extra Help and Medicare Savings Programs.

APPRISE is a free service provided by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Aging, and is funded in whole or part by a grant through the Administration for Community Living. 

This program supports health literacy, one of the five pillars of PA Forward, a statewide initiative to promote literacy across the state. With a strong health literacy background, Pennsylvania residents can manage their family’s well-being to live longer, more productive lives.

The program will be presented in the Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Children’s Wing. Registration is suggested, but not required. Visit to register or call 570-326-0536.
