The Warriors (18-1 overall, 9-1 MAC Commonwealth) hold a two-game lead in the MAC Commonwealth with six regular-season games remaining after a 68-57 win over Messiah on Jan. 24, where four players finished in double figures, led by 12 points from freshman Darius Dangerfield.
The Pride (9-9 overall, 2-7 MAC Commonwealth) posted an 81-57 win over Gallaudet in its last outing on Jan. 23. Senior Sam Smith led the team with 33 points and seven 3-pointers in the win.
Warrior Notes
• The Warriors' magic number to clinch a playoff spot is two. With any combination of Lycoming wins and losses by Alvernia, it will clinch a fourth straight playoff berth.
• With 1,144 career points, senior Chris Wallace needs four more to pass Will Kelly (2007-11) for 23rd in program history.
• With five more rebounds, Wallace will become the 12th player in program history to grab 600 in a career.
• Senior Alex Newbold needs 12 more rebounds to become the 15th player in school history to post 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds.
• Newbold is 16th amongst active Division III players with 164 career steals and Wallace is 18th with 162.
• Junior T.J. Duckett needs 10 more points to reach 700 in his career.
• Duckett is the sixth player in school history to hit more than 40 3-pointers in three straight seasons.
