Wilkes Baseball Team Tied for Seventh in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll

ANNVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University baseball team has been picked to finish tied for seventh in the annual Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom preseason coaches' poll released by the conference office this afternoon.

Seven-time defending champion Misericordia University was selected to finish first garnering 49 points and all seven first place votes. DeSales University was picked second in the poll with 43 points. King’s College was chosen to finish third with 36 points while Manhattanville College was tabbed fourth with 31 points. Eastern University (22 pts.) and FDU-Florham (21 pts.) were picked fifth and sixth respectively while Wilkes and Delaware Valley University were tied for seventh with 11 points each to round out the coaches’ annual survey.

The Colonels open their season on Saturday, February 24 when they host Elmira College for a doubleheader at Artillery Park with a 12:00 p.m. start time, and open conference play Friday, March 16 when they host Eastern at 3:30 p.m. in the first game of a three-game season series.
