Wilkes Men’s Lacrosse Eighth in MAC Freedom Preseason Poll

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Wilkes University men’s lacrosse team has been picked to finish eighth in the annual Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Men’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Preseason Poll released by the conference office this morning.

Defending champion Misericordia University was selected by the coaches as the preseason favorite with 48 total points and six first place votes. Eastern University followed closely with 43 points and earned the other two first place votes. DeSales University placed third with 31 points followed by FDU-Florham in fourth with 30 points and Delaware Valley University fifth with 29 points. Rounding out the poll was Manhattanville College with 19 points in sixth, King’s College with 15 points in seventh, and Wilkes with nine points in eighth.

The Colonels open the 2018 season on Wednesday, February 14 at 4:00 p.m. when they host the University of Scranton at Schmidt Stadium. MAC Freedom play begins Saturday, April 7 in Madison, N.J. against FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
