Wilkes University field hockey junior Haley Gayoski Named to Field Hockey Academic All-MAC Team

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Wilkes University field hockey junior Haley Gayoski has been named Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

The Academic All-MAC teams are an award that is 50 percent athletics based and 50 percent academic excellence, and are designed to recognize students who excel in both facets during their respective season.

Gayoski starred both on and off the field for Lady Colonels in the fall of 2017, shining in the classroom with a 3.91 GPA as an Elementary and Early Childhood Education major, while being named Longstreth/NFHCA First Team All-South Atlantic Region, Second Team All-ECAC, First Team All-MAC Freedom, and the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year.

“There is nobody more deserving of this honor than Haley,” head coach Sara Myers said. “Haley serves as a leader on and off the field for our program and she has been given the recognition that she deserves. Being named Academic All-MAC is a testament to her work ethic both for our program and in the classroom, and I could not be more proud of her.”
