Women's Wildcats Fall to Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Penn College bowed to Morrisville, 78-51, in a North Eastern Athletic Conference women's basketball game Saturday. The Wildcats fell to 1-6 NEAC, 2-13 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 7-1, 8-7.

Tori Wolfe paced Penn College with 16 points, on 7 of 17 shooting. Cassi Kuhns earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Gwendolyn Lavelle finished with 10 points.

Four players reached double figures for Morrisville, led by Tori Rockefeller's game-high 17 points.

After Maddie Wenk's long ball tied the game for a second time, 10-10, with 6:06 left in the first, the Wildcats took its only lead, 12-10, on a Kuhns jumper 15 seconds later. Morrisville responded with an 11-1 run and led 21-13 after the opening period. The Mustangs edged Penn College, 18-16, in the second quarter to head into the break ahead, 39-29.

Morrisville outpaced Penn College 22-11 in the third and 17-11 in the fourth.

Penn College returns to action Wednesday, 8 p.m., hosting Wells College.
